Our little boy blooms!

I'm so excited to report that Chou-chou seems to be feeling 1000x better than just one week ago! We're pretty sure it's the cutting out dairy thing, but we don't want to change anything we're doing in case there's another link. Not only is it great to see him happy and thriving, but it's also amazing to observe all the changes and discoveries he's made in just the last week. As of the last week or so, Chou-chou now laughs every day! And I'm not talking cute little squeals, but full-bellied barrel laughs... such a sweet sound. I can't get him going the way Jarod does- there's something about daddies. It's so endearing to see them laughing together, and very gratifying for Jarod- finally there's something baby wants him for instead of mom:) What else... Chou-chou has been grabbing his feet/socks while on his back for a couple days now, which means the feet usually end up in the mouth! And we've been concerned as of late that Chou-fleur doesn't "talk" as much as he did even as a young babe (6 wks. +). The talking is returning now, little by little, and we're much relieved (just one of the many things we worried about as new parents...). His motor development just seems to have skyrocketed recently, which might explain why there's less in the verbal department as well... plus there's the stereotype (not sure to what extent it's valid) that boys are more physical than verbal at first... He loves to pull himself up while holding onto our fingers, first from lying on back to sitting, then sitting to standing. When he's full of energy, there's even a little jump-y type thing as he stands. It's just so heartwarming to see my baby thrive and be happy and well. Why, again, did I not cut out dairy before??? For baby #2, there are so many things that I will do from the start! Not that there are any plans for #2, it's just that I wish I knew these things to begin with!!

Goodbye reflux arching! Goodbye painful daily crying! Hello Chou-Chou!!

As you and Chou Chou get so excited about cutting out dairy and making plans for cutting dairy for #2....just remember that NOTHING is the same from one kid to the next. #2 might be a dairy fanatic and alergic to peanut butter?? He may also be over this "alergy" by the time he is ready to drink the milk for himself. Every kid is an experiement, unfortunatly! Good luck with the diary thing...I would cry without ice cream! You are a good Mommy for making such sacrifices!! Love, Tami

I am missing my ice cream... at least it's not summer! Jamba juice is pretty good, though. While I know that #2 will probably be Chou-chou's opposite, it's more about wishing I had the mothering skills before Chou-chou's birth instead of wintering through the long, crying/sad nights not knowing what to do. Every day is a feat for sure, which is the only reason I reference the down-the-road #2. At least, when the time comes, I'll have some skills:)
