I've gone gung-ho on the whole cutting out dairy thing, hoping to make Chou-chou happier and, possibly, sleep better at night. I think maybe it's working! Well, the happier part, not the sleeping part. But I'll take happy. Apparently it takes up to three weeks for "toxins" to leave your system entirely, but I heard you may notice a difference in as little as a couple days. Probably to early to draw any conclusions, but I'm too scared to try adding cheese or yogurt back in since things seem to be going well. Why mess with a good thing?! I wish I'd tried eliminating dairy altogether before now instead of just half-ass cutting out milk. The problem is that I love dairy. I'm the kind of person that will happily drink a glass of milk, and I could live off of cereal and milk if I thought I could get all the food groups out of it. Oh, sweet Dairy. Luckily, I love soy milk as well, so it's not all a loss. We normally buy soy and regular just to change things up. Vanilla soy milk on top of grape nuts cereal is delicious, as is (and this is going to sound really weird) sweet potato and vanilla soy all mashed up together. Call me weird, but I love milk! Unfortunately, soy ice cream and soy cheese just don't stand up to the real deal, though. Small sacrifice for a happy boy... just part of being a mom, right? I don't think I'd appreciate someone pumping me full of something that I was highly sensitive to either!
We head to the ND (natural doc) tomorrow afternoon, and although insurance tried to shoot down our plans, we're going and are very excited to see what that's all about and hope they can help with Chou-chou's reflux. I'll report on that later. Oh, and the AMBY bed... ah, sweet Amby. I'm happy to report that Chou-chou took two long naps (1.5 hour) in it the first day we had it set up! The other really cool thing is that he likes it, which means we can put him in awake and bounce him to sleep (fairly) happily. No crying involved. Too bad it hasn't made him sleep in longer stretches:( I guess we can't have everything.

Before we go through another rough patch, I have to tell you that O has been sleeping 8+ hours w/o waking the past few nights. So, you will sleep again...I promise. But that doesn't make you feel much better after 5 months of little sleep chunks, huh?
