Before Chou-chou was even over his residual croup cough, he got hit with RSV! We went in to the doc for the umpteenth time yesterday (and I'm always hoping I'm just being overprotective and he's actually fine), and apparently he's contracted something new! Jarod got hit with two cold/flu type illnesses back-to-back, so I guess it's no surprise really, but when a baby gets sick it's a bigger deal than when Daddy gets sick (although Daddy definitely likes to milk it for all it's worth). So now we've got a nebulizer to help with the wheezing. Still not sure what's supposed to help with the sleeping... I guess babies just don't sleep at night when they're sick and have 101+ fevers... go figure. Of course he's been out for two hours now, when Maman can't sleep anymore. Poor Chou-chou. I try to not be overly antibacterial/sterile in the hopes of helping Chou-chou build his own immunity, since they think now that asthma and allergies increases are due to our too-sanitary environment. That said, it's not like I'm exposing him to other babies' drool and snot all day either. Most of the time we're just home! And Chou-chou has had nothing but breastmilk- no formula here-- so all the illnesses, albeit minor, are a little dumbfounding. Let's just hope he's building up some really amazing antibodies to help him down the road!
Cute little guy that he is, he was pretty smiley for lots of the day yesterday, snot bubbles and all.

I have read that most babies average between 6-10 colds a year--lets just hope you are getting them all over with at once!
